WINONA, Minn. — Winona State University has named Stephanie Geislinger as the next head coach of the Warrior gymnastics program.
Geislinger, a former WSU student-athlete who earned National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) All-America honors in her senior year, will take the reins of the Warrior program on July 1.
Winona State Director of Athletics Eric Schoh said, “We are very excited to have Stephanie as the head coach of our gymnastics program. Her passion and vision for the program is what set her apart from an excellent pool of candidates. Her focus and concern for the academic and athletic successes of our student athletes will no doubt provide a great experience for current and future WSU gymnasts.”
Upon graduation from Winona State, Geislinger pursued her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the Northwestern University: Feinberg School of Medicine, from which she graduated in 2016. At WSU, Geislinger earned a bachelor’s degree in Health, Exercise & Rehabilitation Sciences: Movement Science. The Long Grove, Ill. native graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors.

I have so much passion for the sport of gymnastics and Warrior Athletics, and I look forward to sharing this with my current and future gymnasts.” Geislinger said, “I am eager to be a part of each of the gymnast’s journey at WSU while having a role as their coach and instilling the importance of academics and community involvement. I have great aspirations for this program, and I am so excited to see what the future holds.”
Geislinger’s coaching background includes work with two standout gymnastics programs in Nebraska, the Omaha Gymnastics Academy and Premier Gymnastics, as well as the American Academy of Gymnastics in Wheeling, Ill. She also served as a Special Olympic Gymnastics Coach in Elk Grove, Ill.
In addition to her coaching acumen, Geislinger’s professional experience includes a role as a Physical Therapist for Winona Health, and working for The Athlete’s Training Center in Omaha, Neb. Geislinger served as an assistant coach in the Warrior program during the 2020-21 Winona State gymnastics season.
Winona State will return to competition in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) on Friday, January 14, 2022, when they travel to Hamline University. The full 2021-22 Winona State Gymnastics schedule will be finalized later this summer.
