NCGA named Peszek as Executive Director

Springfield, Mass., Sept. 26, 2019 – Luan Peszek has been named the Executive Director of the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) for DIII, effective October 1, 2019. Peszek, an advisor for JH Consulting, was a former collegiate gymnast, coach, and administrator for USA Gymnastics. She has worked numerous national and international gymnastics competitions including three Olympic Games, one for NBC Sports and two as a press officer for the USOPC. She also worked the 2019 Big 12 Gymnastics Championships as a floor producer for ESPN. 

While at USA Gymnastics she held positions including Managing Director of Communications and two Vice President positions.

As the Executive Director of the NCGA, Peszek will be in charge of administering and enforcing the association’s policies and procedures, while also working closely with the association’s administrators and coaches. The mission of the NCGA is to provide the student-athlete an opportunity for post-season competition that will showcase the highest level of Division III gymnastics.

Peszek said, “I’ve worked in the sport of women’s gymnastics for more than three decades and I’m passionate about the opportunities it provides to young women. I’m excited for this new opportunity and I look forward to promoting DIII women’s gymnastics, managing the administrative functions as well as working on the ongoing program of corporate financial support for the operations of NCGA.”

Peszek is the third Executive Director of NCGA following Jen Miller-McEachern and Jon Santer. She will build upon the foundation already set and continue to move the organization forward in a positive direction. 

A native of Indianapolis, Ind., Peszek graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and from Northern Illinois University with a master’s degree in Public Relations. Peszek was a four-year scholarship athlete for the women’s gymnastics team at the University of Illinois and coached women’s gymnastics at Northern Illinois University, while getting her master’s degree.  Luan is married to Ed and they have two daughters who were also gymnasts. Samantha was a 2007 World Championships team gold medalist, 2008 Olympic silver medalist and 3-time NCAA champion for UCLA and now commentator for Pac-12 Network. Jessica was a four-year scholarship athlete for Western Michigan University where she went on to earn MAC Senior Gymnast of the Year and is now earning a master’s degree in anesthesiology at the University of Colorado.
