Jackson and Tkaczuk Earn WIAC Gymnast of the Week Honors

Madison, Wis. – January 30, 2018 – Winona State’s Eboni Jackson (Lawrenceville, Ga.) and University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh’s Baylee Tkaczuk (Channahon, Ill.) have been recognized for their standout performances this past weekend as the duo were named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Gymnasts of the Week, announced on Tuesday.

Jackson, the defending floor exercise national champion, was named the WIAC All-Around Gymnast of the Week, while Tkaczuk, the defending national champion on the uneven bars, was selected as the WIAC Specialist of the Week.

Jackson won her third all-around competition of the season on Jan. 26, in a tri-meet against Hamline University (Minn.) and UW-Whitewater with an overall score of 38.725. She won the vault (9.525) and balance beam with a season-high score of 9.750. Jackson also placed second on floor (9.750) and was fifth in uneven bars (9.250).

Tkaczuk recorded a trio of top-five finishes during UW-Oshkosh’s 188.400-183.900 home loss to UW-La Crosse on Jan. 27. Tkaczuk placed second on the uneven bars with 9.55 points, while finishing third on the balance beam with 9.475 and fifth on the vault with 9.325. All three of her scores against the Eagles were season bests.
