Springfield, Mass. – March 23, 2018 – The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks have repeated as the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) National Championships, as the Warhawks notched a team score of 193.700 en route to the program’s fifth national title.
Wisconsin-La Crosse took second overall with a team score of 192.550, while Brockport was third with a 191.350. Taking fourth overall was Hamline, which posted a 190.000, while Ithaca’s team score of 189.000 and Cortland’s 188.175 rounded out the top six.
In addition to the Warhawks repeating as the NCGA National Champions, junior Lisa O’Donnell (Berwyn, Ill.) won her second-consecutive all-around national champion, as she posted a score of 38.675. Finishing second in the all-around was Brockport’s Candis Kowalik, who produced a 38.500, just outlasting Tori Erickson of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, who notched a 38.375. Taking fourth was Brooke Terry of Wisconsin-Stout after combining for a 38.275, while Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Samantha Wiekamp rounded out the top five with a 38.075.
Also earning All-America honors in the all-around was Amanda Malo of Gustavus Adolphus, who registered a 37.475, while Ursinus’ Heather Brubaker took seventh with a 37.450, finishing just ahead of Springfield College’s Ali Rushlow, who finished eighth with a 37.425.
The top eight individuals competing in the all-around competition on Friday garnered All-America honors.
