Springfield, Mass. – February 23, 2018 – The National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) is excited to highlight the third of seven former student-athletes to be inducted into the NCGA Hall of Fame in 2018, Jumaah Johnson Goldberg, 2002 graduate of Ursinus College.
Johnson Goldberg ’02 joins six other inductees including Gina Gutierrez ’02 of Springfield College, Bartyzel Consolati ’96, Sandra Picciocio Givas ’87 and Cynthia Chiolo Walsh ’87 of Ithaca, Sonja Ellefson of MIT and Sulekha Modi Zaug of Cortland.
Johnson battled back from two injuries suffered during her gymnastics career to become the national champion on floor her senior year. Johnson also took second place in the all-around competition at the NCGA National Championships, as she also finished fourth nationally in the uneven bars competition and finished fifth nationally on the beam. Additionally, Johnson was a nominee for the NCGA Outstanding Senior Athlete award, and was on the NCGA All-Academic Team.
