Madison, Wis. – February 21, 2018 – UW-Stout’s Sierra Beaver (Lancaster, Ohio) and UW-Eau Claire’s Hannah Lewis (Saline, Mich.) were recognized for their impressive performances this past weekend as they each earned Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Gymnast of the Week honors, announced on Tuesday.
Beaver, a sophomore for the Blue Devils, was named the WIAC All-Around Gymnast of the Week, while Lewis was tabbed the WIAC Specialist of the Week.
Beaver scored a career-best 37.950 in taking first place in the all-around in a dual with UW-La Crosse on Feb. 16. She scored career-bests in finishing second on the floor exercise (9.600) and second on the uneven bars (9.650). Beaver finished sixth on the balance beam (9.400) and eighth on the vault (9.300).
Lewis put together her best performance of the season in a dual at Winona State University (Minn.) on Feb. 15. She tied the school record on the uneven bars with a first-place score of 9.650. Lewis also scored a 9.225 on the floor exercise to finish eighth.
